Privacy Policy

The short version
This app collects nothing. It has no adverts, no analytics, no accounts, and no network code. It asks Android for no permissions at all. Nothing you do in it leaves your phone.
What is stored, and where
The app remembers your progress so you can put a case down and come back to it:
- which cases you have solved
- the marks on a grid you have not finished
- which clues you have struck through
- how many hints you have taken on a case
- your choice of light, dark, or follow-the-phone
All of it is written to your device’s own app storage using Android’s standard SharedPreferences. It never leaves the device, it is not backed up to us, and nobody but you and your phone can read it.
What is not collected
To be specific rather than vague, none of the following is gathered, stored, transmitted, or inferred:
- your name, email address, phone number or any other contact detail
- your location, at any accuracy
- your device identifiers, advertising ID, or IP address
- your contacts, photos, files, camera, or microphone
- how long you play, when you play, or how you play
- crash reports or diagnostics
Third parties
There are none. The app contains no advertising network, no analytics library, no crash reporting service, and no social media integration. No data is sold, shared, or disclosed to anyone, because no data exists to sell, share, or disclose.
Internet access
The app does not use the internet. Every puzzle is inside the app when you install it. You can play the whole thing in aeroplane mode, and it will behave no differently.
Links away from the app
The app may point you to our paperback books. Following such a link opens your browser or the Amazon app, at which point that company’s own privacy policy applies to what happens there — not this one. We receive nothing about you from those visits.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information whatsoever, it collects none from children either. It complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and with Google Play’s Families policy by the simplest possible route: there is nothing to comply about.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes everything it has stored. There is nothing held anywhere else, so there is nothing to request the deletion of and no one to request it from.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever begins to collect anything — it has no plans to — this page will be updated before that version is published, and the change will be described plainly rather than buried.
